Milk Donations

Monthly, on the first Thursday, we deliver 25  1/2 gallon containers of milk to veterans at the Clackamas Veteran's Village.  Please bring your milk to church for delivery in the morning of the first Thursday if possible.  There is limited refrigerator space as we also cook for the Veterans and the Father's Heart on that day.

We, the faith community of Creator Lutheran Church, gratefully remember the ancestors and survivors of Clackamas County - specifically the  Clackamas, Kalapuyan, Upper Chinookan and Molallan Tribes, who created communities honoring the land and waterways. Following their Tribal traditions they carefully maintained and harvested the plentiful natural resources of our area. We recognize the sustainable pracitces they used  in sacred relationship with the land before settlers arrived. We respect and  honor their legacy and descendants who carry on their traditions for present and future generations.
Learn why telling and teaching the legacy of Doctrine of Discovery matters.

Creator Lutheran Church welcomes you to come – as you are, where you are, and who you are – and join us in worship, fellowship, and ministry. The Gospel reveals God's astounding grace as an unconditional gift of love for all people, so ethnicity, race, socioeconomic status, physical or mental ability, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, or marital status are not barriers to our invitation for worship or leading our community. We are committed to racial equality. As an inclusive community grounded in God's love and following Jesus' example, we celebrate the diversity of God's creation.

Dear People of Creator,

Prayer reminds us that God is always alongside us. We pray in times of thanksgiving, wonder, need, sorrow, lament, and confusion. We pray for healing, peace, assurance, relief, and guidance. We pray for ourselves and others. We pray those known and unknown to us. We pray with the assurance that nothing "will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:39)

Each week in the Thursday e-mail you receive from Creator is a listing of requests for prayer. Some of  them are for members of the Creator community, others are not. Some are for circumstances in which prayer is needed. There are several ways for your requests to be made known:
  • Send an e-mail with your request to the church office. (office@creatorlutheran.org)
  • In the narthex/gathering place at church near the door to the sanctuary is a sheet of paper labeled "Prayers for Today" on which you may write your request.
  • You may offer a verbal prayer in the "Prayers of the People" during worship.
You are welcome to bring prayer requests for yourself as well. Whether you know the people or not, whether you contact them or not you are encouraged to simply keep them in your prayerful thoughts for God to be alongside them in whatever circumstances they are experiencing.

In Christian partnership,
Pastor Steve Carlson

Lent 2023

Lent will begin on February 22nd with Ash Wednesday, continuing for 40 days (excluding Sundays). We begin with ashes imposed on our foreheads in the sign of a cross, and during the following days before Easter, ponder why Jesus died.

You are invited to an extra weekly gathering of the community to pause for refreshment during this 40-day journey. The theme of these gatherings will be "Refugia Faith and Climate Change." Don't know what "refugia" means? Come and find out!

Here's the plan for the Wednesdays of Lent beginning on Ash Wednesday:
Soup and bread supper will be served in the fellowship hall beginning at 5:30 p.m. If you can't make it by 5:30, serving will continue until at least 6:00. There will be a freewill offering for food costs. Continuing around tables in the fellowship hall, we will share informal worship around our theme beginning at 6:15. We will conclude by 7:00 p.m  Mark your calendars now!

Do you like making soup?

If you do, would you consider making soup to bring to Lenten Soup Suppers? If so, please contact Pastor Steve by February 1st. We'll gather those who respond and develop a plan for how to do it!
