Creator partners with other groups in the area in multiple endeavors to provide service and help our community.
SOS FAMILIES
During the Pandemic, our congregation started the SOS families to provide essential meals and household supplies for families in in need. We shop each month ensuring that these children and families get extra food in the way of fresh produce, dairy and food items to make nutritious meals. Soon we realized that food was not the only need of these families, but also housing. This program has morphed into a relief program in partnership with the school district and other Churches in the area. We also provide support to these families on both Thanksgiving and Christmas in the way of food and presents. |
Back Pack Buddies
The Backpack Buddies program provides weekend food for children at local elementary schools who are at risk of going hungry on the weekends. Creator helps raise money for this program with a yearly fundraiser in addition to individual donations. Volunteer shoppers give of their time to shop for the meals. The Boy Scouts of Troop 611 pack up the lunches and volunteers deliver them on Wednesdays for distribution to the students. WINTER BLITZ

FATHER'S HEART
Every first Thursday of the month our members cook in our kitchen a hot meal for Our Father's Heart Street Ministry. This meal feeds 125 homeless people. We furnish a hot main dish, salad, bananas and cookies. VETERANS VILLAGE We cook for 25 residents at the Clackamas Veterans Village a place the serves homeless veterans. We supply the same hot meal for their community kitchen to feed the Veterans on site. We also provide desserts and 1/2 gallon of milk donated by church members once a month. During the year we support the veterans on all national holidays. We arrange with the staff on what is needed to support any meal they are planning. |

GOD’S WORK OUR Hands
Across the country, thousands of ELCA members will engage in service work to make a positive change in our communities, build and deepen relationships and share God’s love. Our congregation will partner with different organizations who serve our community. This year our efforts went to support the good work of Wichita Community center. We provided cleaning supplies, paper, hygiene products as well as diapers and baby wipes. We also donated over 24 pairs of children’s shoes thanks to generous financial donations and Kohl’s 50% off clearance prices! We also supported the Dandelion House’s work of feeding the unhoused near Burnside Bridge one Friday morning. |
