Music Ministry
"Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth." – Psalm 96:1
Music at Creator
Music plays a vital role in the life of Creator, enriching our worship and deepening our spiritual connection. Under the leadership of Matt Weires, who has served as Music Director since 2005, our congregation is guided through a wide spectrum of musical traditions. From ancient chants and traditional hymns to contemporary songs of praise, Matt’s creative direction consistently moves and inspires Creator spiritually through music.
Our congregation is familiar with common Lutheran and other liturgical settings, and contemporary Christian music often opens our services, setting a joyful and uplifting tone. Creator's past and present Music Directors have also composed original liturgical music specifically for our congregation. These compositions have become beloved parts of our worship and reflect the unique spirit of our community.
Our congregation is also filled with musical talent. Members are encouraged to share their gifts during Sunday services, and the choir plays an integral role in enhancing worship at Creator. Whether singing for Easter, Christmas Eve, Pentecost, funerals, or other special occasions, the choir’s voices bring depth and beauty to our shared worship.
We are always welcoming new members to join this vibrant and uplifting ministry. If you are passionate about singing or have other musical gifts to share, we would love for you to be part of this special community. Together, we lift our voices in praise and celebration, embracing the power of music to unite, inspire, and glorify God.
We value music as a global expression of faith and invite musical contributions from all around the world, hoping to foster more multicultural worship opportunities. We actively seek to partner with local musicians and artists, enriching our worship with diverse sounds and perspectives. Recently, we were blessed to welcome guest musician Lasana Kanneh, a member of an African acapella group consisting of six blind men from Liberia. whose artistry brought a powerful and beautiful addition to our service.
