Our ecumenical, multi-church SE PDX Youth Collective welcomes Middle and High school community youth as well as church youth.
Our Purpose As a community we build bonds with other youth and leaders through stories to understand and respect one another. We are equals who work together to serve our communities and make an impact on those around us which lives & changes as youth explore how spirituality informs our longings. We celebrate our joys and discuss our hardships with no pressure and judgment. Background
In the Spring of 2016, a few youth workers from SE Portland with similar interests in more expansive possibilities for the greater church body began to meet together regularly. We pondered how together we might provide more transformative experiences for youth, based partially on our collective 40+ combined years of youth ministry, but more especially on where the Spirit seemed to be leading in new ways! The official kick off the ‘SE Portland Youth Collective’ activities was in winter 2016/2017. We have been adapting and experimenting together ever since! Contact Information
Contact Debi at debstromb@gmail.com to receive Youth Collective News and Zoom links and STAY TUNED FOR THIS COMING YEAR'S MEETING PATTERNS. All youth invited to join the discussion!

'Self Care and Earth Care' High School Retreat Week 2022
The Youth Collective has been invited to participate in a Sacred Organizing cohort this next year - for learning and guidance on one passion area which might improve and heal our community, to make it more possible for ALL people to thrive and know their own sacredness! Stay tuned, and let Debi know if you would like to be any part of the youth activities!
We also picked and cooked a farm to table meal together!
We also picked and cooked a farm to table meal together!
And youth organized a different themed fun-night each night - game night, craft night, movie night, music night and spa night!
And we soaked in nature and learning about another part of the state of Oregon
Last Year's 'Making Real Change' High School Retreat Week
Our High School leadership team requested & planned a week of understanding the political system and what it takes to make change. We set up the 4.5 days to correspond to the Sacred Organizing Cycle/Spiral, starting with an evening of getting acquainted, and spending evenings at home due to COVID, except for one overnight in Salem. Here are some photos from the week.
